Explaining What Happens Next After Treatment Ends for Your Injury on the Job in New Jersey

You’ve been injured on the job in New Jersey, and your treatment is ending. The next thing we do is request your medical records. We’ll then set up an evaluation with a medical expert of our choosing.

The medical expert will look at your medical records and will examine your injury to evaluate your condition and propose disability percentages for your body parts. The workers’ compensation insurance carrier will also be doing the same, so you will have an evaluation with their doctor, as well. The insurance carrier’s doctor will most likely have lower percentage numbers than our doctor’s numbers.

Following the evaluations, we’ll then begin negotiations for the claims. A permanency award will be decided, based on the functional loss to your body parts that were injured. Watch the video to learn more.

If you have been injured in the course of your employment and you have additional questions, call us at 609-771-8611. I welcome your call. Review our media library on our website at http://www.GaylordPopp.com to learn more about workers’ compensation.
