Social security disability is a government program that if you have a medical problem that prevents you from returning to your work and you’re out of work for at least six months and there are medical doctors indicating you’re going to be out of work for at least one year you are eligible to apply for Social Security Disability.  These are benefits that are provided to you because you have contributed into the program. These benefits would pay you for the rest of your life until you reach age 65, at which point the federal government would convert those benefits into regular retirement. In order to know if you’re eligible to apply for social security disability, you should contact an attorney like myself who handles these types of legal matters. I answer questions like this every single day. If you have additional questions as a result of the information that I’ve provided, I encourage you to pick up the phone and call 609-771-8611 or send me an email at sgaylord@gaylordpopp.com.
