What You Can Expect at Your Social Security Disability Hearing

At your Social Security Disability hearing, you will be in the company of a judge, a clerk that will be recording the hearing, and a vocational expert. In some cases, a medical expert may also be present.

Roughly one month before your hearing, you will visit our office to discuss your medical records and treatment for the previous 1-5 years, along with your conditions and how they affect you. Our conversation will include discussion of how these conditions limit your performance of household activities and how they have hindered your social and family life. If anyone helps you as a result of your condition, we will also address such details. This meeting will likely last for several hours.

Additionally, we will discuss your work history. This includes work for 15-20 years prior to your disability. We will address job duties, such as lifting requirements. We will also cover your educational history and highest levels of education. These details will all have bearing on your case. Watch the video to learn more.
